Terms of Service

Effective date: July 8, 2026

The short version: Nudge is a native macOS app from Big Decibel that reminds you about your meetings. It's provided as-is, it reads your Google Calendar read-only and stores nothing on our servers, and by using it you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Nudge macOS application ("Nudge"), published by Big Decibel ("we," "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Nudge.

2. The app

Nudge is a native macOS menu-bar application that connects to your Google Calendar with read-only access to display on-screen reminders and a menu-bar countdown before your meetings. Its handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Nudge on Macs you own or control, for your own use. You may not resell, redistribute, reverse-engineer (except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law), or remove any proprietary notices from the app.

4. Early access, pricing, and Pro

Nudge is currently offered free of charge during an early-access period, with all Pro ("Premium") features unlocked. When early access ends, Pro features will require a paid license — $34.99 one-time or $19.99/year on our website (with a 7-day full-featured trial), or an in-app purchase on the Mac App Store (prices subject to change). Website purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, and are governed by our License Agreement and Refund Policy. Purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple and are also governed by Apple's terms; refunds for App Store purchases are managed by Apple. We may change features, pricing, or the availability of free access at any time.

5. Google Calendar

Nudge's access to Google Calendar is read-only and is subject to Google's terms and the Google API Services User Data Policy. You are responsible for your own Google account and for the accuracy of your calendar data. Nudge cannot create, edit, or delete calendar events.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Nudge for any unlawful purpose, to interfere with its normal operation, or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any related systems.

7. Software updates

Nudge may check for and install updates automatically (via Sparkle) to deliver fixes and improvements. Updates are governed by these terms.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Nudge is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that Nudge will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a reminder will always be delivered on time. Nudge is a convenience aid, not a guarantee that you will not miss a meeting.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Big Decibel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any missed meeting, lost data, or lost profits arising from your use of, or inability to use, Nudge.

10. Termination

You may stop using Nudge and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate the license if you breach these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
